CONSULTANT + ADVISOR

Nathan is an entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary scientist with expertise in marine carbon sequestration, biogeochemistry, oceanography, microbial genomics, exponential tech, entrepreneurship, regenerative design, brand development, and artificial intelligence methods. Nathan consults and advises numerous large and small organizations on environmental, cultural, and technological strategy.

In the past decade, Nathan has held executive roles at several pioneering carbon removal companies. From 2020 to 2023, he was the first Head of Science at Vesta, helping to lead the first-ever field trials of coastal enhanced weathering in collaboration with numerous universities and institutes, including the US Army Corps. In 2024, he was the founder and CEO of Scape, which developed coastal seawater facilities that sequestered CO2 emissions from hard-to-abate industrial emitters while producing critical metals for the energy transition. In 2025, Scape’s technology was acquired by the carbon storage company, FlueVault, where Nathan now helps drive its technology development. See Nathan’s Google Scholar for recent patents and publications in carbon removal.

Nathan is passionate about the equitable application of technology to help support a just and green transition. The organizations he advises are below.
